CLARENDON — The annual Kinder concert and Santa Day featuring children’s musicians Brian and Terri Kinder of Little Rock will be hosted by the Clarendon American Legion Auxiliary from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec.8 at the community room of Mid-Delta Health Clinic, 245 Madison Street, Clarendon.
Children attending will enjoy a rollicking, interactive Christmas concert followed by visits with Santa Claus, crafts, refreshments and door prizes. Parents are encouraged to bring their own cameras to capture photos of their kids with Santa Claus.
The event is free, but all those who are able are asked to please bring a new, unwrapped toy which will be used for the local Angel Tree project. Each year, many toys are collected to benefit this worthwhile community project that helps many children in the Clarendon and Holly Grove areas.
Again, the program will be held at a new location, the community room at Mid-Delta Health Clinic, 245 Madison Street, Clarendon. For more information, contact Tricia Rogers at (870)468-6434.
Following the annual event, the Clarendon Chamber of Commerce will hold a holiday treat walk at the gazebo across from the clinic. There will be a wide variety of holiday treats available at this fun bake walk including pies, cakes, breads, cookies, brownies, etc. Santa Claus will also be on hand at the gazebo to visit with children and pose for photos. Chamber members will be making treats for the walk and invite the community to donate baked goods for the event as well. Anyone wishing to donate baked goods can drop them off at Mid-Delta Health Clinic on Friday, Dec. 7 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Contact Becky Broadnax, Susan Caplener, Mary Kersey, Wendy Garrett or Tricia Rogers at Mid-Delta Health Clinic 747-3381 for more information.
